When someone close to us passes away, the last thing anyone wants to worry about is writing. Yet millions of people each year face exactly that challenge – standing in front of grieving family and friends, expected to deliver a eulogy that captures an entire life in just a few minutes.

I’ve spent nearly a decade building online tools and services. Most of my projects focus on making complicated tasks simpler. But this one felt different from the start.

The idea came from watching someone struggle to write a speech for their father’s funeral. They had plenty of memories, plenty of love – but translating that into structured, spoken words felt impossible under the weight of grief. Generic templates didn’t help. ChatGPT produced something that read like a Wikipedia entry.

That’s when I started building FuneralSpeech.us.com.

The core insight was simple: a specialized tool, trained specifically on well-crafted eulogies, would outperform any general-purpose AI. So I collected examples of genuinely moving funeral speeches, studied what made them work, and built a guided questionnaire that helps users surface the memories and details that matter most.

The result is a 10-minute process that produces a personalized, tactful speech – not a robotic template. Users answer questions about their relationship, the tone they want, and share specific anecdotes. The AI weaves these into a coherent tribute.

What surprised me most was the emotional feedback. People don’t just say “thanks for the tool.” They share how it helped them get through one of the hardest days of their lives. That’s not something I expected when I started this project.

If you’re curious, you can try it at funeralspeech.us.com. The preview is free, and every purchase includes a revision if something doesn’t feel right.

Building useful things is why I do this work. Sometimes useful means saving time. Sometimes it means helping someone say goodbye.
